post post-grad blues

Overeducated, overtrained & underemployed is an absolute crap place to be.

Getting a PhD is starting to sound better & better - plus it
might be a way to live in the UK for a while ♥
...if only i wasn't in debt up to my eyelashes - no, no, no, I'd rather work!

the sweet science

so...i'm calling a TKO on my self-esteem!
(what's wrong with me? oh, right - i'm completely ridiculous).

*sigh* that said - my bod inspiration is gretchen mol in The Notorious Bettie Page (2005). wow! this is the BEST gretchen has ever looked (the art direction, hair/make-up, costuming & lighting design are well-done too, but still).

i watched this on IFC over the weekend - her performance is not amazing, but there is something undeniably adorable about her in this film. and while the real bettie page was striking and fit - i want gretchen's bod & confidence from this film.

Okay - diet, work-out & new job hunt begins tomorrow (after i catch up on Eastenders of course).

Look out world ♥

never tear us apart....

All day I've been thinking about Michael Hutchence - out of nowhere.
God, he was so absolutely charismatic. INXS was so major for me in H.S.

*completely cool*

Rolling Stone called him a "storm-tossed yet high-flown romantic."

♥ he was amazing

summer, summer, summerin'

I'm ready for a proper summer! Finished with grad school now and want to spend time by the seaside, or in movie theaters. I'll catch up on sewing, eat yummy fresh fruit & veg and drink Pimms Cups! Hopefully I'll be taking loads of evening walks & even mini-vacations.

1 trip underway - just bought my ticket for Montreal! Going to visit mom & it's the first trip with a new friend...it'll be amazing!

OH! And reading, reading, reading!!

the truth.

this weekend i re-watched movies by lubitsch, kubrick, meadows & lynch. i am so lucky to know these artist's work and to have made them integral to my life. i am NOT an artist...and i sometimes fancy that i am all about music or craft or academia...but the truth is, i am a film lover. it is NOT a cool thing to be. most of my friends have a talent or a profession, but i...i watch moving images. and honestly, those two words probably summarize me better than any other 2 words can ♥
