cruel summer

my have a blast yearbook summer fantasies are officially over.

this summer has gone by so ridiculously fast in spurts and dripped along like molasses in others. its been mental! the first part of the summer was lush - seemed very promising, but it's been a bit of a drag really. i've had so much on my plate & the weather has been so gloomy :(


the summer concert series in the garden has kept me busy for 14 hours every Thursday and Saturday's have been disastrously busy in the garden - and now a new art installation and huge database conversion. eeeek! i miss part-time work! why is it that the grass is ALWAYS greener. ALWAYS! at least i got to go to the always amazing san francisco silent film festival and i've been getting in shape and deathly hallows part II was immense!

Since Quebec I've been so v. disappointed in myself - my job hunt & my get in shape plan. I've had a brilliant lack of oomph. I think I'm in a post-grad school existential haze. At least i got to see sweet Ashley this week when we went to the midnight Eclipse premiere (ridiculously silly & fun). To redeem my(fangirl)self I will be working at the San Francisco Silent Film Festival in a couple weeks. Always immensely impressive & inspiring. Other goodness - new IT Crowd episodes started too!!!

All-in-all I made some great outreach connections for the museum this week...but, it's hard to stay positive when I'm not there full-time. Oh well. Grrrr!

Since I have a (rare) day off with my man tomorrow, I will leave my worries at the door and do the following:

Sleep in!
Go to the movies!
Indulge in sweet summer fruit & other delights!
& catch up on my film blog

I'm ready for a proper summer! Finished with grad school now and want to spend time by the seaside, or in movie theaters. I'll catch up on sewing, eat yummy fresh fruit & veg and drink Pimms Cups! Hopefully I'll be taking loads of evening walks & even mini-vacations.

1 trip underway - just bought my ticket for Montreal! Going to visit mom & it's the first trip with a new friend...it'll be amazing!

hello sweet september....

This endless summer is finally, brilliantly over! This summer = the hardest course load ever, insomnia and fresh angst. But, I'm starting a lovely new internship and a new quarter next month and am absolutely ready to plan for future, ie. London.

yes-yes-yes-yes!!!!!

However, there were some lovely moments - meeting Ms. Piper Laurie of course. Her voice was like heavy velvet - and she had a totally blue sense of humor. Ace!
